Through Pain & Suffering - Hope & Healing

This baggage I carry is so heavy.

Why do I suffer?

Why do I live with this anxious spirit within that seems to overwhelm me?

Why does fear grip me?

The truth is this: it is because you are normal. You are human. Your crisis and trauma is real. You are part of the 8.025 billion alive today who struggle just like you. It is not IF we will struggle in life. It is WHEN we will struggle in life. And WHEN we struggle we need to know that JESUS SEES YOU!!!

He told his disciples “In this world you will have tribulation…” it is inevitable. But he did not leave it there!!!! He told us: I love you child, but be of good cheer! You are kidding me right?

Be of good cheer? Take joy in my tribulation? I’ve been carrying this guilt and shame for so long, I’m not sure what to do with it. My grief weighs so heavy and my depression is so real.
The answer? Take it to the cross.

As Pastor Ben said this past Sunday: take it to the baggage claim of the cross and leave it there! That is where hope enters our story. Be of good cheer for we are not alone. Be of good cheer for he has overcome anything this life can throw at us. Be of good cheer for there are others around you whose arms are open to embrace you in your loneliness.

Here is the spiritual truth: When we surrender to the truth that peace is now here, hope is now here, healing is now here, we also become an overcomer!

“I don’t have the strength!!” I know. We don’t. But Jesus does. We just have to embrace him! We are born into our faith in Christ to be gifted with an inheritance of hope, peace, and rest. It’s ours to claim. That’s why he wrote this truth:

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33

You have got this and God has got you!!!
